Tourist Visa Advisory

"This is for information that there should be a gap of at least 2 months between two visits to India on a Tourist Visa".

In case of requirement to visit India within 2 months, permission should be sought from the Embassy of India, Berne directly without going through VF Services. Where permission is accorded by Embassy of India in such cases, registration with the local FRRO/FRO would be required within 14 days of arrival in India . Processing time of the request will be 2-3 working days.

However, applicants , who after initial entry into India plan to visit another country and re-enter India before finally exiting, could be permitted more than one entry, as the case may be subject to their submission of a detailed itinerary and supporting documents . For such cases, the tourist visa will be issued for those specific entries only and not multiple entry.

The re-entry permit will be granted on discretionary basis only for urgent travel requirements by the Embassy of India, Berne and on the basis of exact itinerary submitted by the applicant. An additional endorsement, when requested for, will cost a fee of CHF.25.

Pakistan Nationals & Persons of Pakistani Origin

Special visa application is needed for Pakistani nationals. This can be downloaded from the section containing forms. Foreigners of Pakistani origin who continue to hold dual nationality viz. Pakistani nationality as well as foreign nationality must apply for visa on their Pakistani passports with visa form meant for Pakistani nationals.

It can take several months before a decision can be conveyed on visa requests by Pakistani nationals. Applicants are requested to be patient and not make enquiries in this regard by phone, e-mail, personal visit, fax or letters, which, due to constraints, we will not be able to respond to.

Foreign nationals of Pakistan origin would need to fill up the additional form along with the general visa application form. The additional form can be downloaded from the website. Normally such passports would be mailed back in one month. Normally, three months single entry visa is given.
